AMFA AS/HA Merger Committee Update: July 29 2025
Our AMFA Merger Committee wanted to provide you with a progress update. There has been a period of stagnation with no new developments, which is why there hasn’t been more progress information lately.
Timeline:
- AMFA is awaiting the NMB decision pertaining to single carrier status.
This decision is almost a given since these decisions have already been made by the NMB for the Pilot, Flight Attendant and Ramp work groups. This decision is expected in August 2025.
- Post this decision, the NMB will request union seniority lists from Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines for the maintenance work groups. The representative unions will be allowed a review period and each union will be able to protest the presented lists.
- The NMB will decide what classifications are included into the Maintenance Class and Craft and a subsequent Union Representation vote will be conducted.
Our biggest strength comes from everyone’s participation in this process. AMFA’s founding principles are rooted in democracy. AMFA only functions as a result of membership vote and involvement. This vote is your voice in who will be the represented Union for the combined Airline. Additional information regarding a vote and timelines will be communicated to the membership, once this information is known.
Thank you elevating our class and craft everyday with your continued engagement.
If you have other questions, please reach out and ask.
In Solidarity,
The AMFA AS/HA Merger Committee
